What should I wear to the event?

Out-of-Town Happy Hour - Dressy Casual

Wedding - Black Tie Optional

What does black tie optional mean?

For men, a tuxedo with a black bowtie if they have one or a dark formal suit with a dark tie and white shirt.

For ladies, a floor length gown, dressier cocktail dress or formal suit / jumpsuit. You may also consider a light layering option for a cool evening.

Additional style notes: SFMoMA is a highly modern, sophisticated and bright white backdrop for our event. Bold colors of spring and abstract patterns are fun options for the ladies to consider.

Sunday Brunch for W Hotel Guests - Casual

Terrain & Walking Expectations

If you are coming from the W Hotel, there is a very short (1/4 block, ~2 minute) walk from the hotel exit to the private MoMA entrance on Minna Street on the public paved sidewalk. Inside the museum, elevators will be available between floors. The ceremony, dinner and reception will take place indoors in spaces with wood floors and the cocktail hour will be outside in the paved rooftop sculpture garden.

I have a Lyft account, but how do I use the credit code?
What's the weather like in April in San Francisco?

Springtime in the city is a variable season for weather. Historic temperatures for our wedding weekend include an average high of 63 and a low of 49, and a record high of 91 and record low of 40. April marks the end of winter and rain season for the bay area, with some showers lingering through the month or drying up early depending on the year.

How should I dress for the city?

When preparing for weather in San Francisco, the key is light layers that can be worn altogether or carried compactly so that one can flow naturally with the various microclimates in the city. Consider a wind and rain resistant thin top layer over a warmer fleece or hoody atop a base layer tee. Long pants are practical for winds and rain alike, with temperatures rarely warm enough to merit shorts or skirts. Snug fitting or chin-strap adorned hats that collapse are a great options for sunny stretches, otherwise fall back on the SF staple of a versatile hoody. For footwear, shoes should be practical as walking is often the best mode of transportation and the culture doesn't inspire a fashion forward look (bonus points for wearing the SF ubiquitous Allbirds wool runners). A warm scarf and even light gloves complete the outfit for those that run cold.
